Borbets and Bentleys: My impressions

Well, a while ago I mentioned that I was in the process of spending the $$
on new Borbets and the set of Bentley manuals for my car. I said that I
would give my impressions of both.

The Borbets: Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. I am very happy. They make the car
look fantastic. Much sportier looking, and it definitely stands out from the
crowd (as if an Audi doesn't already, right?!!). Of course, my once stealth
sports-sedan now attracts the "wrong element", on both sides of the
law....). Oh well...

These rims are also noticeably lighter in weight than the OEM rims. The
reduction in unsprung weight has noticeably improved the ride, and the
steering response is better, with a quicker and sharper turn-in. I almost
feel that it is too light... but I'm not complaining!! My next "trick" will
be to try upgrading to 215/60/15s, for even more excitement.

Overall, I'm glad I did it. Of course, I am wondering if I should have
gotten the 16 inchers.... (please, no "I told you so" responses!!)

The Bentleys: This is the first set I've ever seen, and I must say, they are
loaded with lots of technical info. However, it seems as if they are written
as Shop Manuals, for the "pros", not for the DIY or Backyard Mechanic. Does
anyone else feel this way??

Is it common (at least maybe for Audi) to require so many "special" tools??
Also, is it me, or are they "short" on offering detailed diagnostic
procedures? They really don't give you suggestions based on the "symptoms"
of something (i.e. see my recent post about "The Shakes"). I went in there
looking for an anwer, and found nothing. Was I not looking in the right place??

So, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to put them to use... only time will
tell. It is still nice to have the set, though, just in case.

Thanks for the bandwith.
