'88 90Q air con not shutting down properly

Not the same car, I know - but it _is_ the same year and country ...

On the 1988 ur-quattro with air conditioning, J155 (control unit for turbo 
cooling pump) can run the fresh air fan.  No, I don't know why, but it's quite 
clear from the diagram. 

This is a brown/black wire passing on its own through a blue connector and on 
to join another brown/black wire in a black connector, all behind the "switch 
panel".  On cars without a/c, the wire from J155 ends in a dangling blue 
connector.
