I think the only tires that Conti makes that could be considored for high
performance are their bicycle tires-and in that catagory they make some of
the best. My first car (a wmb 1600) was totaled after a Conti tire had the
entire tread come off at around 80 mph, the car landing upside down in a
ditch about 1/4 mile later-I was not cited. Yes, I was going fast but not
beyond the speed rating (SR but still...) of the tire and it was at near full
tread depth (this was the 70's BTW). I have sworn never to run Conti tires on
a car ever again-no matter how good or bad they may be. Reading Tom Nas's
post just re-confirmed that.
