Re: A6QW new tire meets a curb with straight edge

In a note dated 4/10/97 you ask:

<<Am I SOL, or will a Goodyear retailer give me a lot of tred credit due to
the low, low miles on them? Appreciate any advise or suggestions.>>

If you have no road hazard warranty (OE tires? then prolly not :-( ) you are
indeed SOL I'm sorry to say. If the other 3 tahrs are still pretty fresh
(minimal tread wear) you can probably get by with just replacing the bad one.

This raises another question for the list too; I have always been told (by
many Audi wrenches and even knowledgable tire store employees) NEVER run
tires on a quattro of unequal tread wear (size), to always replace all 4 at
once, and not to drive on the space-saver spare more than about 30 miles or
over about 35 mph. In my ten years of quattro ownership I have always heeded
this advice, but is it really true???
