Nice mountain run
Hi Y'all,
I found a *fun road* this last weekend. I needed to make an evening run to
Roanoke, VA from my home in WV and back. I found State Route 311 from White
Sulfur Springs in WV (home of the world-famous 5-star Greenbrier
hotel/resort) to Salem, VA. About 60 miles of a great drive. 45 miles of
it is a total blowout road! Twisties, up and down, switch backs, good
pavement, very little traffic, and an absolute blast to run at speed. If
you get by that way, by all means have a ball. If your SO has a tendency
for car-sickness, leave 'em home.
For those planning to make WV a portion of the Pike's Peak Run, squeeze this
road into the trip if you can possibly manage it. I rate it at about 4.5
stars out of 5. So far, I've never found a 5.
Uh, Audi content, I was in my boost enhanced '89 200TQ while driving this
fun road. :-) Yaahoooo!!!
