If I was going to do this before paint, I'd just grab the lip with
as many clamps as I could get my hands on, then tighten each one
a little at a time. The more clamps, the better.
There will be damage to the outside bodywork where the clamp
face rests, but if you put a flat surface on it it will
minimize it. Then after rolling, surface grind and sand flat
then paint it.
I'm sure the professional has better tools and tricks of
the trade, but I wonder why he doesn't want to tackle it.
Remember, the factory rolled the 85s before paint.
