Re: A6 trip computer/coin holder

RE: Inaccuracies of computer: have found mine to be close to dead
accurate on MPG; have checked against hand calcs with odometer
and gallons pumped into car at fillup.  Odo/speedo are also very accurate;
this is with 205/60 tires (another check holding constant speed &
measuring time to cover distance between mile markers on interstate,
and checking odo change over approx. 30-50 mile distance using markers.

If you are having problems with a new car, take it back to the dealer. Shop
manual for my Coupe indicates there are a couple of calibration adjustments
that can be done. Do your own measurements & bring them into dealer so
he can (possibly) do adjustments.

I dearly love the computer I also understand and accept its inaccuracies.
(snip)
 Of course you have to accept the inherent inaccuracies
in how it measures fuel flow, pressures, fuel remaining, and the like. I
just use it as a trend indicator, once you live with it for a while you know
how to interpret its own peculiar version of "reality".

More than you asked for, but.....
