Re: A6 trip computer/coin holder

I asked this same question about the last builds on the S6, the answer I got
was two fold: cost and reliability.

Cost I can understand, although cost didn't seem a factor on the S series so
I don't know that I buy that reason.

I dearly love the computer I also understand and accept its inaccuracies.
I've never had a reliability problem with the computer. The one on my '86
4KCSQ is still functioning fine after 11 years and 220K+ miles. The one I
had on an 89 200TQ was reliable and never gave me a problem. The one on the
current '92 S4 is similarly reliable.

In fact I think this is one of the more reliable systems - based on my
experiences to date. Of course you have to accept the inherent inaccuracies
in how it measures fuel flow, pressures, fuel remaining, and the like. I
just use it as a trend indicator, once you live with it for a while you know
how to interpret its own peculiar version of "reality".

More than you asked for, but.....
