That is your built in G-Meter, and if you let the fluid go low enough in
the reservoir, you can get it to flash on hard acceleration.  If you add
fluid to the reservoir, back to the normal level, it will reset it to only
flash on 1.0 g turns, or when your car is really really hot, which ever
comes first.
