Insuring a car in the US?

Hi all,

Hope I got your attention this way... I've a question for y'all:

How would I go about insuring a car in the US as a foreigner? I have a
perfect and clean driving record here, 4 years, NCB up to 50% currently. It
would only be for third party.

Is there any way to contact insurance co.s on the 'net and getting quotes?
I prefer not to run up a huge phone bill sorting this out- we're not so
lucky to have competing phone co.s, but are gouged by a former state-owned
phone co getting fat dividends for its shareholders. Yep, pet peeve.

This is only for a very short period, 2 weeks at the most. The car would be
really old and low in value.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Tom
