upgraded ISV?

How "extreme" a novice?
 
I can't imagine that your ISV is _that_ much different from mine.  I've done it 
three or four times this month, possibly not as often as a professional 
mechanic, but I guess I could get it off and back on in under a minute.
 
It's two hose clips ("Jubilee" clips, we call them) and an electrical connector.
About as complex as changing the dustbag on a vacuum cleaner.

As to the price - easy.  Find and pull the old one, and post both the Audi and 
Bosch numbers on it.  Find a friendly Bosch specialist in your local Yellow 
Pages, and read him/her the number.  Expect a surprise.
