I have an 89 200 and posted a similar problem awhile ago. One
suggestion which I received was to check the fuel pump. It seems that
these models had a painted fuel tank interior which could slough off and
clog the fuel pump intake. This did not turn out to be my problem as
mine was a vacum leak in the flex hose of the intercooler.
