Whoa. Wait Just a minute here. Rewind to last season. Wieght penalty
imposed. Who finished first, second or third in about all those last races?
Alain Menu and Ricard Rydell, with Menu's teamate never far behind and
Kelvin Burt out after a roughly landing (ever see that? OUCH! Good thing
the car was RHD, he would be dead....) Frank Beila won ONE race after the
penalty was imposed, and had a hard time keeping with Winkelhock in the 320i
and Menu in the Laguna. In fact, it seemed at times that the audis were a
moving roadblock for the top 5, as Beila was all too often fighting for dear
life against the faster Volvo, Renault and BMW teams, and Honda and Opel
weren't all to far behind. Go back even to the race that Belia won with the
penalty. Who was gaining quickly on him when he took the checkered? Menu.
Who won the first race? Menu. This is nothing new, and the greater weight
as well as the outlawed engine has slowed audi more...
