'86 4000s clutch
OK. My car is at the dealer getting it's front right fender fixed.
I had the clutch replaced from some moron at a local shop around a year and
a half ago. It is now going out. It only slips when really getting on it
in 1st or 2nd, but, I know I can do more damage if I wait. So, I have 2
questions.
1: I leave for the Air Force in 22 days and and won't have it (fixing
fender) for 4 of those days. The question is, can I baby the clutch and
use it just to drive to work for those 18 days and get it fixed later? I
live about 3-5 minutes from my work.
2: I want to go through the Audi dealer from now on for repairs. So, what
is the going rate for labor and parts for a clutch replacement, assuming
there is no damage to the flywheel?
The first time my clutch went out, it was over a month and I didn't really
ease off of it much. So, I think I can make it last, any suggestions?
TIA
