I have the Bosch FI & Engine Management book, and have found a chart
that correlates oxygen sensor voltage with air-fuel ratio. Basically,
we want to know when the air-fuel mixture is 12.6:1 == max performance
ratio according to the above book.

On a related note, the last section of the book talks about "Tuning for
Performance & Economy". In Section 9 (?) it describes some Scirocco racers
with KE-Jectronic (a.k.a. CIS-E) who tune their pressure actuator current
to 6mA when open-loop. Thus, when running closed loop, the oxygen sensor
signals for a richer mixture. Anyone know if this works? I am not sure
I completely follow the logic of it...
