Love bugs recipe

Many, many months back some intelligent lister posted a method for keeping
your car free from love-bug stains.  It involved spraying something on
the front of the car, if I remember correctly, and easily wiping all the
dead bugs off after the trip.  What was this special technique?

The reason I ask is because my father will be getting his A4 1.8t 5-spd
tomorrow, and has to drive to Orlando, FL on business Friday.  He would like
to protect his brand-new car from love bug guts as much as possible.
