high pitched whistle after new turbo install

Hi all,

Last week it was a rebuilt turbo that failed at less than 500 miles. This
week, today, it's new(rebuilt) turbo installed with a high pitched whistle
sound at idle. Disappears when RPM increases, and when engine gets hot I
think. Could be metal on metal somewhere, also.

All normal precautions were observed; changed oil and filters, turned
engine over for about 60 sec, 15 on 15 off, with coil grounded, idled for
about 5 to 7 minutes before driving at all. During installation I had to
loosen the compressor housing and rotate it to line it up with the output
fitting and tube, which I did with the turbo bolted on the car. I do not
have a stethoscope but I moved my head around in the engine compartment and
the sound level varies from place to place. This sound wasn't present
before installing this turbo.

Any ideas?

TIA.

Cheers!
