Comparing brake wear

How does one draw conclusions from.....

What does this mean?   I just changed my worn factory originals at 70k km's 
to carbon-metal.  I drive in Toronto.   Midas is running commercials 
promoting carbon metalic pads as lasting 27% longer.  No mention of rotor 
wear.  Either way, they are doing a BOOMING business here in Toronto, *** 
land of stop signs on every street corner ***.  If you drive in Toronto, 
you'll never even dream of the pad life mentioned in the above post.  .
