Re: Turbo Outlet flange cast steel - Alloy=?

<< Scott/ Others,
I hope you turbo experts out there can tell me the alloy composition for the

turbo outlet flange (includes oxygen sensor) and for the exhaust down pipe.
My weld has a full circumferential crack at the location of the original
weld.
If I know the allow I can better choose the right rod. I know some very
good
welders so if it can be welded it will be. If the material is cast iron ,
there is a place in Montreal I have heard good things about.

The material AT the turbo flange to downpipe is cast iron. Montreal it is.
You may want to take a gander at the right side motor mount as well. Most
manifold and downpipe cracks are the result of bad motor mount right,
combined with heat cycles. Make sure the air box (branches off oil cooling
duct) and cool air hose to the mount are intact. A look at the bracket
holding the Cat might be a good idea as well.
