Re: questons

In a note dated 5/7/97 you ask:

<<okay I need to know what model replaced the 4000 Cs quattro?>>

Well, in a way...none. Technically speaking, the 80/90 series followed by the
A4. None since have been as nimble, light, and fun to drive in my biased
opinion. Of course, Audi has also not yet "replaced" the ur-q either IMO. The
A4 1.8tq comes the closest so far...buuut there is lotsa cheap plastic and
rubber materials in places where there was leather and higher "quality feel"
materials (i.e. steering wheel, shift knob and boot, dash) cuz the A4 1.8tq
is still the "bottom of the line" and Audi seems to have lowered that
standard as they have moved up market. I will no doubt get heavily flamed
from new Audi owners for this one...but I have noticed this trend since I
bought an 88 80q new-now near 10 years ago-and I almost gaged when I saw the
rubber and plastic "sport" steering wheel on the A41.8tq and the fake
something plastic trim on the dash...but that car is still the closest they
have come to the soul of the 4kq. I've said it before and I still
maintain...my favorite US quattros part come from the '80's (excepting the 91
200q, S4/S6, and of course the V8 5spd and A8).
