Whistling turbo problem cancelled for lack of interest

Hi all,

The problem is over, according to the rest of the world;  I'm not so sure.
After arguing with the rebuilder about how he could ship 2 defective turbos,
blah, blah, blah, I decided to take it to the Audi garage that does the work
that I don't want to do etc.  Their "turbo expert" listened, looked,
tweaked, checked vacuum and pressure lines, and we both listened.  The
problem went away.  I don't know why;  perhaps as some suggested it was a
running in noise that disappeared when the run in was completed.  I still
believe there's a problem, but I'm willing to drive it 'til it falls on its
knees again.  I believe that the turbo will fail prematurely.

Thanks for your help and advice;  for now I'm declaring it a non event.
