Yup.  A "consumable" item.  On my third set.

The archives copiously document getting them fabricated at almost any hydraulic 
(earth-moving, etc.) specialist.  If you can't find anywhere, Dialynx in the UK 
will export a set to the USA.

BTW - catastrophic failure is rare.  The leak starts _very_ gradually indeed.
 
Someone knew about this problem before you bought the car.
