Cabriolet lineage (was: black rag top)

Not right at all, and on a couple of counts. Here are some facts.

1. The Cabriolet has its origins in the third generation of B-Class Audis.
There never was a 2-door "90CS" in this, or subsequent, generations.
2. The Coupe quattro was based on the B3 generation 80/90, and was the only
2-door fixed-roof variation on that theme. And by-the-by, the Coupe came in
quattro _and_ front-drive forms, which brings us to the next point....
3. The Cabriolet is most closely related to the front-drive version of the
B3 Coupe.
4. The Coupe continued to live on for several years after the Cabriolet was
introduced (just not in the U.S. market).

Much of the original (erronious) claim seems to have been based on the
provincial view that U.S. model lineage is indicative of the One True Way.
