Hella 500's

Hi all.

I have a problem with my Hella 500's (round clear lens driving 
light).  I only used the lights a few times and already both are 
cracked all over the place.
I would dismiss it as rock damadge but my friend had the same thing 
happen to his lights.
We did upgrade to 100W bulbs. 
Could the high watts have cracked the lights?!
