I have recently purchased an '88 80Q which is in excellent condition for a vehicle with 132,000 miles. I have all service records from the previous owner of this vehicle and have not found any indication that there were any previous problems with the power windows. The power mechanism for the drivers window worked flawlessly for the first couple of weeks I owned this vehicle, but this morning it completely failed. I was driving up to a drive-thru window, hit the button to lower the window, it went down about half-way then raised up about an inch. I was a little surprised, but I hit the button again. It went down where about 1 inch of the window was showing. It then refused to move up, or down with the power switch. I was able to raise the window by pushing up on the glass.
