I had (have) the same trouble when I did my '87 4kq. WP came in a blue
box, new from Germany, I think. Chris Semple, what kind is it? The first
pump made the noise. Loosened the belt, same noise. R&R the _new_ pump
for a second new pump, same noise. The belt is now _LOOSE_, and still
makes the noise between 1100-1300 RPM. Sounds like a total clam. ~6000
miles on the pump now, with no sign of relief . . .
