Excuse my ignorance, but could you be specific about which other stuff?
I think they'll do the work tomorrow.

BTW, is a bearing problem something that can be caused by improper
shifting technique?  And if so, does it gradually happen over time or
can a lousy driver do it in 30 minutes?

I only recently read about double-clutching on this list, for example;
I always down shifted by hitting the clutch, bringing the car into
neutral as I rev up the rpm a bit, then put it into the lower gear
and bring the pedal back up.  Is this bad?  Other than this (which
I don't often do), and the occasional missed shift, I shift quite
smoothly.

It is strange, but other people who drive stick often can't deal with
my clutch.  They think it's too fast or something.  It's really the
only stick I've driven much though, so I don't know....
