Re: Questions about 4000cs quattro timing belt and water pump

I would recommend replacing just the water pump gasket if it's
accessible anyway. The pump itself seems pretty solid to me,
so I would just look it over while its out. On the other hand, it's not
THAT big a deal to get back in there (esp. if you've done it once),
so why mess with a working pump unless it's looking suspicious!

I had a leak at the pump, and bought one before opening her up. Turned
out the pump looked great, but the gasket had deteriorated, causing the
leak. I stuck the new pump in, but I'm sure it wasn't necessary.
