Changing the pressure sensor isn't necessarily bad.  There are some mods out
there which raise boost past the range of the stock pressure sensor then
disable the computer's response (either by code in the chip or electrically).
Changing the pressure sensor means that the chip can _control_ boost at
higher levels.

I'd say replacing the pressure sensor in this case is a good thing.
