Coupe GT? NO--Coupe GeeWhiz!! YAHOOOOOOOOOO!
Well, I am de-lurking in a glorious burst of victory (Audi Gods, please be merciful & allow me
this one day in the sun).
After bitching and moaning all winter long about the Coupe's less than ideal handling
characteristics vis a vis a deteriorating front end, and the subsequent frustration after fixing
very little with new control arms, ball joints, tie rods, ends and so on, I have finally come
out the other side. I gots bugs in my teeth!
Last week just had new Boge Turbo Gas intstalled all the way around with (of course) new strut
bearings and accompanying bushings, as well as replaced the warbling, shimmying rotors, and
VOILA! The steering is positive, heavy like I like it, and the wheel no longer jumps out of my
hands. Handling is nothing short of exhilarating (I know I'm gonna hear the real deal from some
Q-owners on this one though).
Took my baby on twisting, winding, off camber turning MacArthur Blvd. in MD-DC tonight for a
spin and you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a tire iron. NOW I know how these
cars felt when new (or so I like to think). TONS more fun than my Scirocco ever was. Third
gear at 3500rpm's through three double consecutive S-curves is about as much fun as I can handle
today!
Now, about that Scorpion exhaust system...
