Mr Winzer's circuit diagrams

I faxed our German friend the most important 22 pages of the factory wiring
diagrams for his donor ur-quattro, assuming it was model year 1985.

I also spent some time fiddling around with the scanner. Although I'm pretty
much over-worked, it's fairly easy to scan pages into .TIF format. I _know_
there are better formats, but this is a good compromise between software,
operating system, scanner hardware, display, etc., for me.

Each page comes out at well over a megabyte, but they zip down to (in one case)
as little as 1.7KB. It's usually between 20KB and 35KB per page.

The problems:

a) This stuff is probably copyrighted, though I can't see any notices.

b) The structure is complex - the index calls out which diagrams are applicable
to each model year - the subsidiary diagrams (ABS, digital dash, heated
seats, electric mirrors, rear washer/wiper) seem to be called for each year
   almost at random.

c) It's _BIG_. There are 59 diagrams - all are multi-page and some are up to
20 pages. The book is over three inches thick.

d) It's in Kraut. This is not a major problem for me - in fact, I rather
prefer it. There are very few words that aren't blindingly obvious.
It is, after all, fairly obvious what a "Relais" is. And a "Motor".

e) It's Euro-spec. This is likely to be the killer for US listers.

Anyway - if anyone wants a little file to play with, I'll whack one over on
request.
