This is what I found out about the electronic speedo/tacho on my 1989 Avant.
The chip that drives the speedometer and the odometer is an ITT UAF2115. I
couldn't find any reference to this chip anywhere, so I e-mailed ITT. They
sent me a PDF file with the data sheet for a UAF1025 which apparently is
identical.
I also worked out the circuit diagram for the speed/odo circuit. I drew
this up as a CorelDraw drawing.
I could e-mail you the UAF1025 spec and/or the speedo/odo circuit diagram if
they would be any use to you. For the moment, I would concentrate on the
sender and the wiring from the sender to the dash.
