4k died while hot, HELP! (not mine, yet)

Listers,

Hey, guess what?  I might get a 4k quattro.  The owner drove it low on
coolant, due to a leak.  He pulled over to add coolant, while running,
and it died.  Then it turned over very slowly and wouldn't start.  Now
(or later that day) it turns over normally but still won't start.

Anyone know what to check?  I'm hoping it's a fuel pump relay or fuse or
something.  That's SOME hoping, ain't it?  But even if the motor's
toast, I FINALLY WILL HAVE A CAR TO PUT A TURBO IN!

Please let me know anything I could check, or how to confirm the
engine's a goner.
