FW: The Good State of MN

I do indeed do some of my own work. However, since at the moment I am in an
Apartment setting I don't really have the resources to get too involved. I will
be looking at a house next spring and then when I have my own garage I will do
most everything once again. I've done struts, clutch, lifters, timing belt,
radiator, electrical etc... I love working on cars!

We'll have to keep track of who is involved on the list here in MN and have a
get together sometime. Thanks for the note. you have a good holiday weekend as
well!

Hi Ron,

live East of St. Paul in Woodbury. I have a 1990 200 TQ (qualifies me
for the list right!!), a 1996 Passat VR6, and several other less
interesting (possibly the 69 Fbird 400 is interesting) cars. Do you
by any chance do your own maintenance? Since the snow has finally
gone, I'm busily repairing all the stuff that I have put off. What I'm
looking for is a place that might have the u-joint and center bearing
for the driveshaft. Audi have them, but only as a complete driveline
for around $1k. Blau in Wisc has rebuilts for around $500, but I'm
thrifty and think I should be able to do better. So far I've replaced
the rear strut inserts, the rear control arms, and am replacing the
timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, and other belts over the long
weekend. The strut inserts and control arms really improved handling.
I forgot how much it had changed in 7 years.
