13 months ago I installed, up front only(drums...UGH!!..in rear),
MetalMasters along with non-slotted, non-cross-drilled, but
obviously-vented Brembo rotors in the hopes of stopping, with minimal
noise and dust, my Coupe GT by themselves. My drums arrre..err..well, I
never knew I had rear brakes - and I've had the C-GT for 109K miles/6
yrs.! ;-) Seriously, since I bought the car from P&W(Burlington's
Porsche/Audi dealership), the drums have needed work in some form or
another, but only adjusting and such at first, until the leaks from the
cylinders became excessive and the pads wore out, and then everything
including the P-brake went out-of-order. At some point(23K miles ago) in
that decline, I put the MMs and Brembo rotors on to perform all of the
stopping - sort of a test for my research on the C-GT and its
possibilities. ;-)
My point is, I am quite happy with the MMs. Only the front discs are
actually doing any significant clamping...IOW the MMs and Brembo rotors
have done ALL of the stopping of my Coupe for 23K miles - no rear
drums(no rear brakes, period!) to help. Considering that, I have
experienced normal amounts of brake dust on my Alpine White wheels :-(
and no noise! Mine have been used extremely hard and I have experienced
only one negative trait, fade, nothing else.

p.s. I know rear drums are nothing to be afraid of, but I've been lazy
due to the fact that I feel as if the drums are virtually useless for
everyday street driving, even if it is me and my lead foot...some day
soon!
