error message on 1990 200T

I need some sage advice...

Started up car this morning (warm, second time running today), turned on A/C.

Got a warning indicator in cluster indicating either brake or PS problem. I
stopped, checked levels, which both looked okay. I did drive over some
bumpy roads, which *may* have set off the warning. But I wasn't sure about
the PS fluid, since the bottle is opaque...

When I restarted the car, everything was back to normal. Huh?

So anyway, I believe that the brake system takes regular DOT 4 fluid, but
the PS system requires Pentosin (or according to the manual, Audi oil or
similar).

What's up? If I need it, where can I get Pentosin in the Boston area?
