Intercooler / Piston problem [huh?] thread

I've been too darn busy lately to keep up with many of the
threads, but caught one where someone was talking about cold air causing a
piston problem?

	Several points.

First, cold dense air is your friend. While I assume many things
are possible in theory, I have never heard of motors developing problems
because the charge air is too cold. You *will* see a problem with NO2
[extremely cold "air"] slapped onto stock motors, but the problem relates
to fuel, not air temp [yeah, I know what causes the lean condition, but
let's not go to "indirectly" arguments, for now]. I think this thread may
have gotten started with a misunderstanding...cold air, standing alone, is
good, not bad.

Second, I know of ongoing development that may well revolutionize
what we now consider being an "effecient" intercooler. The guy doesn't
say much about it now [and I don't know any more than I am writing
here...well, not much more:)] cause he is still working through fitment
bugs. But, before you go laying down big bucks on a Spearco intercooler,
you might want to wait a few months.

Turbo + right fuel at right time + cold air = power that will
quickly outdate many of the tweeks now being used, IMHO:) Sometimes, 2B
is much much more than an east facing apartment in QSHIPQ's neighborhood:)
