  That's not enough.  There's an "energy reserve" unit from which the
airbag can still be supplied power if the battery's unavailable.

  I've got to disconnect the airbag, too, as I'm ditching the Audi
steering wheel (switching to the MOMO Monte Carlo.)

  I'll post tomorrow should I tackle this job tonight and find out where
the sucker is located.
