Smell fuel in car. '90CQ

I'm begining to smell fuel in my car. I checked the engine compartment 
and don't see or smell fuel from there. My guess is that it is not fuel 
I smell, but the vapor. Maybe a seal has dried up or something, or the 
vapor catching system(if there is such a thing) is not working properly.

Has anyone else experienced this?
