Re: '86 5000 power window problems

I have an 86 5000cstq w/ power window problems. Due to it's age, I
believe that it has already had the wires spliced between the door and
the body, hence the following questions:
1) how does the (driver's) inner door panel come off? I found
two screws just below the window, (front & back) but it is brittle enough
that I am scared to force it, and it doesn't seem to want to move.
Where are the other screws?
Remove the two screws. Next pop the handle cover off the door pull (on the
inside of the door) and remove the three screws (one top, two bottom), remove
the small plastic cover behind the latch and remove the screw there. Now
carefully pry the door panel away from the door starting at either lower corner
and working your way up. The panel is held in place with plastic "snaps/plugs".
Once it has been pulled away from the door, lift up on the panel to free the top
edge from the window sill.
2) Where does the wiring harness for the door plug in?
According the the wiring diagram, there is a "9 point connector"
behind the instrument panel... Is it part of the "Koster" panel (if
so, which number?)
In my 1986 5000s that I parted out, it was located behind a carpeted
panel to the right of the driver foot well, along with the connector
for the power mirror. If you need a motor or regulator assembly let
me know. I still have the ones from the '86.
3) What is an acceptable price for a 5kcstq w/ IA modification
(1.8bar), 180,000 miles. Good shape, except for cosmetics (driver's
power window, radio fuse blown, headliner)
Sorry, can't help you here!
Thanks for any suggestions.
