Window Problemos on 87'4kq

Hello,
I am having a problem...my drivers side window won't go down sometimes.  If I
push button to go down several times it has gone down.  The window always
goes up no matter what.  I looked at the wires in the door area and found a
black wire with green stripe with exposed copper.  I taped up exposed part
with 3M electric tape but i still have the same problem.   I don't think its
the motor, is it the switch?  If so what does it look like and where should I
goe looking for it.  By the way the rear  window on drivers side does same
thing.  Any help would be GREATLY apprciated....
