push button switch lights

Does anyone know specs for light globe that goes into the switches for   
demister, front and rear fog lights on 1991 Audi 90. Two out of three   
have burnt out in my car. Can they be somehow replaced? I took the switch   
apart and could not figure out how to take them out without the use   
soldering iron. Could they be replaced with high intensity LEDs in series   
with some resistor? Has any tried this before?
Any input will be welcomed.
