Re: 30 valve 2.8 A4

I agree about the 30V sport wheels. The stock 5-spokes _look_ much more
sporty. But then again, I've always loved the way Audi's are deceiving.
Nobody expects them to perform the way they do!

Pricing isn't bad, though. Base invoice only rose by $600 over the '97,
with a $690 increase in sticker. This is way less than I expected,
considering addition of the 30V motor and the side airbags. Tiptronic
tranny is only $100 more than the '97 auto (which is well worth it, feature
wise, when compared to the '96-'97 auto tranny). The only other price add
on is the sport package, which is a lowly $400. A great deal, considering
what you get. The bottom line is $1190 more than a '97 IF you pay sticker
and IF you get all the options. Is it that much more considering all the
additional features that you get? If you are scared of a price $1190
higher that a '97, just don't get the new options.

BTW, I paid $31,484 for a '98 30V w/ manual tranny, quattro, sunroof
package, cold weather package, sport steering wheel, bose stereo, trip
computer and leather. Invoice on a somewhat equivalent 328i would be
$32350, without 16" wheels, quattro, side airbags, etc... And expect at
least 3% over invoice on a BMW in my area.
