Here we go again! and thanks Jim and Bev
Over a period of three days I have seen the best and the worst of the
list. Saturday the Jazman organized an Audi outing for the purpose of
celebrating ten years with his 5kTQ. Arrangement made with his time and
effort and food and drink at his expense. It was a really great day!
Everyone looking over the cars. Eight nice Audis. We talked
modifications. We talked about running on tracks. We ate and drank,
and we played bocci ball(very fun!). Not once was it mines bigger. I
would like the list to know what a great day it was and how much I (and
the others that were there) appreciate what Jim did to organize the
event. It was about loving the cars. Thanks Jim! I hope we can make
some excuses up to have another one of these this summer, maybe in Saint
Louis.
Now we must sit through the worst with the current thread we have all
been reading.
Here are two definitions for your approval:
By the way these are from Webster's Collegiate Dictionary tenth Ed.1996
1. Emeritus1, noun, one retired from professional life but permitted to
retain as an honorary title the rank of last office held.
Emeritus2, adj, 1. holding after retirement an honorary title
corresponding to that last held during active service. 2. retired from
an office or position.
Hmmmm... Scott where did you teach/work as a professional Audi chassis
engineer emeritus? Which is holding himself up to be an engineer just
as he as accused others. Seems rather odd to me. Did you work on the
Trans Am effort or IMSA? Might have been DTM ;) nah.
2. Engineer1, noun, 1. a member of a military group devoted to
engineering work. 2. a crafty schemer: plotter. 3. a. a designer or
builder of engines, b. a person who is trained in or follows as a
profession a branch of engineering, c. a person who carries through an
enterprise by skillful or artful contrivance. 4. a person who runs or
supervises an engine or apparatus.
Doesn't say got my degree from Harvard/MIT/Washington Univ(just a plug
for the alma mater) does it? It is a pretty broad definition. Why read
deception into a post? One might find that directly slamming your
competitors suspension to the list when everyone knows you sell kits is
deceptive. The list is a place to share ideas, not get personal with
the attacks (over a sig file) when others do not agree.
One last note, as I was watching a video tonight(Star Trek: First
Contact) they were discussing how one event would unite
humanity....Shouldn't our common love of all auto Audi unite us, not
divide us. There might be one reason why.....money....after all in the
24th century ther is no money(according to the movie) and they get
along. Isn't it always about money?
End of the rant, goodnight!
