Expensive Muffler

Hi all:  The service mgr. at Rietzl Audi just called and let me know
that my wife's '90 90Q20V needs a new muffler.  He says it's about
$700+ for the part!!  Does anyone have any ideas?  Like Midas or
anything cheaper?  He says the new muffler has a lifetime warranty
(but not the original!!).
