Papers In tire Story

I don't find the "papers in the baggie" story too unlikely. Tires do
get hot, but I'm not sure they get hot enough to make a sandwich bag
terminate. And seems to me that the papers in a big would not be
heavy enough to cause a tire imbalance - and that as soon as the tire
started turning, centrifugal force would hold the baggie in place.

As for the "squirt-in tire sealer" problem, that is a true emergency
measure. The packet could be replaced when the tire is removed for
follow-up repairs. (and maybe cleaned to remove goo....but again,
wouldn't a bit of goo help to hold it in place??) I doubt many
list-members here would use the sealer stuff and not follow up with a
repair at the first opportunity.

And for that matter, seems like SOMEONE on this list must be about to
have tires changed - and could drop in a test sandwich bag with
documents - then let us know at his/her next change how
well the packet fared. (I hope, he said knocking on his wooden
forehead) that I have no need to change tires soon.....
