     Alot is different.  The cam is different, the valves are not sodium
cooled, a few other details.  Physically they would interchange, but not
recommended at all.   I went through the frustration about a year ago when
looking for a head for my UrQ, finally I settled for a '86 style head and I'm
quite pleased with it.  It's very quiet (hydraulic) and better metallurgy
than my original.  But you shouldn't settle for a retrograde piece.
