Agreed - the 30v gathers speed deceptively quietly. It's a *very* nice
engine.
Having said that, I'll take a 1.8 (if I get an A4) because of the cost
difference. Of course, that will be offset some if I go with an
aftermarket (or the 30v's) suspension setup. At least I'll already have
the 16" wheels and nice sport seats.

Commenting on the 30V motor, it is anything but buzzy. It is extremely
smooth and silky. My girlfriend thought it was too quiet...even eerie.
