5000s cheep good deal?

 Hi all, I wanted to ask you a few questions.
 I found an 86 5000S fwd auto for $500 obo
 It needs a CV axle and possibly a new auto-box.
 It has been maintain by Porsche-Audi from day 1-120,000 mile service
 I think I can get him down to $300.00
 Would you take it???
 Now, one of my friends told my of a FWD Audi auto that had a shift kit
 and it would bark 2nd gear.
 Question is this part available and if it is how much???
 Another question.... How much would it be for me to rebuild 
 the auto tranny???
 the car has 150Kmi but had not been started in 2-weeks (dead battery)
 and when I hooked up the cables it fired right up!
 Lifter were tapping pretty bad, but I figure that's a given at 150K.
