Re: 200 vs M5 vs V8q
Reading about the post about the price comparison
between 91 200q and M5 ($15k-$20k for a 91 200q in SoCal)
made me think...
Let's see: I bought my '90 V8q with 50k miles (don't trust the
odometer, however) for $7900 last January.
Work done so far: Tune-up/timing belts/plugs/wires/labor $ 1000
5 spoke wheels/D40Z /install
1000
H&R/Konis/install
1000
Dynomax/Brullen exhaust/install
600
2 cone filters/pipes/custom install
180
Used rear differential/labor
1100
Fuel pump/install
220
total $ 5100
So far, I've spent around $12,000 give or take a few hundreds on a car
that turns head, has leather, butt warmers, cell phone, etc. I've also
tested it on track and it is incredibly stable at 135 mph, will take
corners
like a rhino on testosterone high, and after the speed testing, takes me
home in comfort and style. Now, I am just waiting for Randall's sc
upgrade
and maybe I could learn how we can install a forced induction on this V8.
All I can say is: I hope Audi deflation continues and maybe I can snag an
A8
for $15K in ten years from now.
By the way, the car has no accident record, paint is flawless for a 7
year-old
and the interior is pristine. The Audi gods must have been watching this
car. Got the details from Porsche-Audi in CT thru its VIN, where the
car was also serviced for 7 years.
Some day, I'll tell you the story of how I got this car from a used
car salesman in South Bronx, NY who has no idea that Audi makes V8.
Cheers! Please no flames, I am really happy with this car!
